Ashure Ministry S.E.E.D. Internship Program
(Service, Engagement, Experience, Development)
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Ashure Ministry S.E.E.D. Internship Program. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get real-world experience in a nonprofit setting and learn skills that will be beneficial to them in educational, professional, and personal settings in the future. This is a yearlong course designed to provide students with exposure to nonprofit, food distribution, retail, community service, and other job areas.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about things such as:
Crisis Assistance Services
Food Distribution Systems
Data Entry
Food Safety & Storage
Cash Register Operations
Retail Displays
Working with Volunteers
Donation Intake & Sorting
& More
Applicants: Open to high school or college students interested in learning about or developing skills in nonprofit careers, retail management, or food distribution.
Five requirements to receive the Certificate:
At least 50 hours of volunteer experience between the Food Pantry and Thrift Store (minimum 15 hours in each)
The passing of skills/knowledge test for Pantry and Store
Write an “Impact Story” to be included in an Ashure publication or email
A final project for the semester (Choose 1 of the following:)
Organization of a Food or Clothing Drive in coordination with Ashure Ministry staff (Pantry or Store).
Coordinating a volunteer event with Allen for the intern’s school/church/etc.
Coordinating a small fundraiser with the Development Director
Designing your project focusing on any area of Ashure (pending approval of Ashure staff)
Final paper & course evaluation
