Eliminated
Ava and Everett felt very fortunate to have secured jobs at the same manufacturing company. It was a first for them to work together. With the company's excellent benefits, they would now have much-needed health insurance. This was great primarily because their children had medical needs, and those costs had caused a large amount of debt.
With medical bills, rising rent cost, and ever-climbing food prices, the financial strain was too much. Ava had even taken on an extra part-time job to alleviate their ongoing financial burdens. This relief was unfortunately very short-lived. Despite their best attempts, it just seemed overwhelming, especially when her beloved role alongside her husband was now being eliminated. While this was a major financial setback, thankfully, her part-time job allowed her to transition into full-time employment.
In light of Ava's situation, Everett had asked multiple times about his position at the manufacturing facility, and whether it was secure. Despite the reassurance, it was just about a month later when he was also let go. Faced with continual mounting challenges, they turned to Ashure Ministry for assistance. Audrey, our compassionate case manager, met with them, offered to pray with them, and fully assessed their financial situation.
Ava shared that Everett was doing all he could to find new employment, but it had been over a month now since his severance pay had run out. No new job offers had come in for him. It soon became apparent to Audrey that their medical bills, as well as other expenses, were being paid with credit cards. They were on the verge of hitting their credit limits. Audrey wanted to help prevent this crisis from causing them to further spiral out of control. She knew things must change quickly.
Audrey introduced Ava to Ashure Ministry’s Crisis Assistance Coaching Program (CACP) equipping her with essential budgeting skills and other guidance on priorities. After looking through their debts and income, Audrey let them know that they qualified for monthly food assistance and help with 1 month's rent. Audrey also shared that the CACP we offer could further help them get their debt and their finances fully under control.
Ava was eager to return home and share how great the meeting at Ashure Ministry went. Everett was thrilled to come home to Ava and the children and tell them how great his interview went. Thanks to your kindness and support, their unexpected burden was not over, but it was now so much lighter. Everett was soon offered the new position and gladly accepted.
Please know that this family will never forget that through your generosity, a tangible difference was truly made in their lives, for which they will be forever grateful.
