Chaos into Comfort
Caleb and his young son were survivors of Hurricane Helene fleeing the destruction in Asheville with little more than hope in their hearts. As a single father, Caleb’s sole focus was keeping his son safe, but starting over was harder than he anticipated. When he came to Ashure Ministry, all he asked for was help with a deposit for an apartment—a step toward finding stability again.
What he received far exceeded his expectations. The ministry covered the deposit and provided groceries from he pantry, clothes for him and his son, and household items to make their new apartment feel like home. Patricia, his case manager, connected Caleb with additional resources offered by wonderful community partners who helped him furnish his home with other necessities. Within a week, Caleb’s empty apartment was transformed into a place of comfort and security, effectively turning chaos into comfort.
“I just wanted to make
sure that my son
was safe...”
“I just wanted to make sure that my son was safe,” Caleb said with emotion, as he reflected on the devastation he left behind in Asheville. “I never imagined we would have what we needed so quickly. Without your help, I cannot even imagine how we would begin the recovery process. Thank you...thank you so much.”
Thanks to Ashure Ministry’s assistance with food, clothing, housing and household items, Caleb and his son now have a foundation where they can begin to build a new normal. Your support enables us to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, meeting immediate needs and restoring a sense of peace even in the most destructive and tragic natural disasters.
