Rebuilding His Life

Jordan is a resilient man who has spent much of the past year fighting battles that few people could see. Determined to move forward despite difficult circumstances, he continued searching for stability even when it felt just out of reach.

Throughout the spring, Jordan found himself in and out of psychiatric care. Just when he thought he was making progress, another setback would lead to another hospital stay. The combination of treatment, recovery time, and medications made it impossible to keep steady employment. Before long, he had fallen two months behind on rent. To keep a roof over his head, Jordan picked up odd jobs whenever he was able, doing everything he could to catch up. But with several follow-up appointments still ahead of him, he realized he could not overcome the crisis on his own.

When Jordan came to Ashure Ministry, he was carrying more than financial stress. He was anxious about the future and worried that losing his housing would undo the progress he had worked so hard to make. Case manager Keely took the time to listen to his story and understand the challenges he had been facing. Together, they explored available resources, and through Ashure Ministry’s crisis assistance program, Jordan received help with his past-due rent.

The impact was immediate. As Keely shared the news that help was available, the anxiety in Jordan’s voice gave way to relief. The help allowed him to remain housed and focus on what mattered most—his health, his recovery, and rebuilding his life. More importantly, he no longer felt like he was facing those challenges alone. Jordan told Keely,

"I was beginning to wonder if things were ever going to get better.

Between the hospital stays, losing work, and falling behind on rent,

I felt overwhelmed. You’ve reminded me that God hasn't forgotten me.

Now I can focus on my recovery so that this doesn’t happen again."

Today, Jordan is working a new job, continuing his recovery, and looking toward the future with renewed confidence. He is also excited to take part in Ashure Ministry’s Crisis Assistance Coaching Program (CACP), where he hopes to strengthen his financial skills, advance professionally, and continue making progress emotionally. What once felt like an endless cycle of setbacks has become an opportunity for a fresh start.

Through the compassion of Ashure Ministry and the faithfulness of supporters like you, Jordan was reminded that even in life's darkest seasons, God has not forgotten him. Thank you for making stories like his possible.
