The Wrecking Crew Shines at Ashure Ministry!

If you’ve ever stopped by Ashure Ministry on a Monday or Wednesday morning, chances are you’ve witnessed the energy and laughter of “The Wrecking Crew.” This incredible group of volunteers—Kevin Hawley, Ronnie Belloir, Patty Hawley, and Jonathan Eckard—has become an essential part of our team, and we truly can’t imagine the Pantry without them.

The Wrecking Crew found their way to Ashure a few years ago after some changes where they previously volunteered, and it was an instant fit. They quickly discovered a place where they could serve a cause they believed in, connect with people they enjoyed, and find joy in the work they do.

Between the four of them, there’s hardly a task they don’t tackle. Patty is often busy building carts or sorting and bagging produce. Jonathan gets right to work sorting frozen meat donations before jumping in wherever he’s needed. Ronnie and Kevin handle a lot of the outside work—managing trash, recycling, and cardboard—before heading indoors to help sort Target donations and find their next task. Their dedication, initiative, and cheerful presence help the pantry run smoothly, especially on those busy weekday mornings.

What stands out most about this crew is their spirit. They love what they do, and it shows. They show up with smiles, uplift everyone around them, and remind us always that service can be both meaningful and fun. Whether it’s fellow volunteers, staff, or clients, they brighten every room they enter—and if you follow the sound of laughter, you’ll usually find them at the center of it.

Thank you, Kevin, Ronnie, Patty, and Jonathan for the joy, heart, and hard work you bring to Ashure Ministry. You’re more than just volunteers—you’re family.
