Shining in Our Volunteer Spotlight… Becky Less
Becky Less has made a remarkable impact in a short time. She first joined Ashure Ministry about a year and a half ago after hearing about us from friends in her exercise class. From her very first visit, Becky was a natural fit—and she’s been coming regularly ever since.
These days, Becky volunteers at least twice a week and often steps in whenever we’re shorthanded. She’s willing to do just about anything: assemble carts, bag produce, greet clients at the door, enter data, or fill any other need that pops up. Her flexibility makes her an incredible asset to the team, and wherever she’s helping, she always does it with a warm smile and an upbeat spirit that lifts the whole room.
For Becky, volunteering is all about the people—the teammates she serves alongside and the clients she’s come to know. She’s quickly become part of our volunteer family, sharing laughter, encouragement, and plenty of good-natured jokes while setting a strong example of dedication. She treasures the friendships she’s formed and loves seeing the familiar faces of clients who brighten her day as much as she brightens theirs.
Knowing she can play even a small role in helping those we walk through challenging times keeps Becky coming back week after week. “It’s rewarding to know you can help someone get through a tough spot,” she says. Becky hopes others will give volunteering here a try, too: “Once they get in the door, they’ll fall in love with it.”
Becky has experienced some of our busiest days and understands how much teamwork it takes to keep our ministry running smoothly. Her willingness to roll up her sleeves—whether that means tackling a mountain of produce or welcoming clients with kindness—reflects the heart of our mission.
Thank you, Becky, for your kindness, flexibility, and hard work—and for showing what it means to serve our community with heart. We’re grateful for everything you do!
