A Different Perspective: A Moment that Changed Everything

At Ashure Ministry, we are continually reminded of how God uses ordinary moments to make an extraordinary difference. Today, we’re honored to share a powerful story from Kyra, one of our newest high school interns, who witnessed this firsthand—on her very first day.

Kyra was shadowing Audrey, one of our compassionate and dedicated case managers. That morning, an older woman named Margaret came in, seeking help with food and her energy bill. As Margaret explained her situation, Kyra watched Audrey listen intently, reviewing her paperwork with gentle care and a warm smile. Then came the moment that changed everything. Audrey looked up and shared some awesome news: Margaret qualified for assistance with her energy bill. Margaret’s eyes filled with tears. “Thank you,” she said, voice trembling. “You have no idea what this means to me. This can change everything.”

Overwhelmed with joy, Margaret stood and wrapped both Audrey and Kyra in a heartfelt hug, leaving for our food pantry drive through with a beaming smile and a lighter step.

Later, Kyra reflected on what she had seen. She said it was more than just helping with a bill—it was lifting a burden and restoring hope. Watching Audrey’s care and dedication, Kyra said, It felt like witnessing a miracle. It may have seemed like a small act, but to Margaret, it was everything,” Kyra told us.

We are so proud to have Kyra serving alongside us. Her story is a beautiful reminder that God moves through small acts of kindness, turning them into life-changing moments.
