Painful Gap

Keely, one of our case managers, first met Carrie, an expectant mother of three, one afternoon when worry seemed to rest on her more heavily than her own pregnancy. Keely quickly found that Carrie is soft-spoken and gentle—the kind of person who quietly does everything she can for her family, even when her world feels like it’s coming apart at the seams.

As she and her husband, Jesse, sat across from Keely, they explained how they had been piecing life together through temporary jobs. It had worked—barely—until November. Carrie suddenly needed far more medical appointments than anyone expected. Missing that many days ended her assignment without warning. Days later, Jesse’s temporary job wrapped up too. He had secured a permanent position starting in December, but the weeks leading up to that start date meant zero income… and an eviction notice had already been taped to the door.

Keely immediately felt the weight they were carrying. They weren’t just worried—they were exhausted. As they worked through their budget and talked through what the next few months would look like once Jesse’s paychecks started coming in, one truth became clear: they would be stable soon, but they would not survive this painful gap without help. That’s where Ashure Ministry stepped in.

The ministry covered their rent so they could remain safely housed, and they were also enrolled in our food program so their pantry was stocked while they regained their footing. After communicating this, Keely watched something shift in Carrie’s face—like a burden she’d been carrying for miles had finally been lifted. Carrie pressed her hands to her belly and whispered,

"I didn't know if anyone would help us.

It feels like God showed up right when we needed Him most. "

The visible transformation from fear to relief, from uncertainty to steady ground was overwhelming. With their home secure and food guaranteed, Carrie could finally focus on her health and preparing for the new baby.

These are the kinds of transformations your generosity makes possible. When you give to Ashure Ministry, you allow us to step into the most fragile moments with hope, stability, and Christ-centered compassion.
